The Philippines has a large population base estimated to reach 100 million people by the year 2010. The median age is just 22. Due to the size of this work force, even basic clerical work requires a university-level education. This disqualifies the vast majority of Filipino students due to their inability to finance a university-level education.
It is sad to think that brilliant children will never be given the opportunity to reach their academic potential due to their impoverished state. This provides little hope for escape from the curse of multi-generational poverty unless compassionate, resourceful people choose to lend a helping hand. The benefits of this assistance is immense, for the first time in perhaps several generations there is now a very real opportunity to break the shackles of abject poverty for individual families.
